Since I offer tarot readings along side my hand analysis, I am often asked to describe the difference between them. My very short response is “hands are about self and the cards are about stuff”. Your hands show how you are dealing with events in your life, the cycles and patterns you repeat, and often why. Your hands show how you’ve dealt with things in the past and how you will likely handle them now and in the future based on all the factors that make up you. The cards are a reflection and an extension of your self and your energy. Just as your life is made up of cycles and patterns in response to your environment, others, and events, the cards show what is happening now, the cause and effect energy that created the now, and possibilities for moving in the most beneficial direction.
In the beginning of reading hands it was awkward to sit and hold hands with strangers for such a long period of time. Now I think nothing of it. But, what I found worked for me was to start with a tarot reading and this built a rapport between myself and my client and once the tarot reading was finished it was easy to reach out and take hold of their hands to take a look.
Over time I discovered patterns in the tarot that matched a combination of features in the palms. While reading the cards and before seeing the palms, cards showing certain types of defensive and protectiveness would come up when in the palms there’d be markings such as an inner life line coming to an end showing letting down old walls and releasing attitudes no longer needed. I can sometimes accurately guess what to expect to see in the palms. People tend to seek out those of us who do intuitive and analytical readings to give them confirmation and affirmation of where they are in life, so it makes sense that the hands would have markings that relate to the events, situations and stuff of life that come up in the cards.
This combination of readings allow you to see yourself objectively along with where you are in life and what is currently happening that affects your journey on your path. It’s a great confirmation of self and an affirmation of where you are in relationship to where you aim to be.
